Dodge City - Abel Rodriguez, 75, died December 29, 2022 at St. Catherine Hospital, Garden City.  He was born on December 6, 1947 in Mexico the son of Patricio Rodriguez and Maria Luisa Quezada.

Abel grew up in Mexico and married Martha E. Terrazas on February 14, 1969 in Mexico. After their marriage they moved to Colorado and in 1981 moved their family to Dodge City. He worked for National Beef in Dodge City for 35 years before retiring. Abel loved to be outside taking care of his chickens, goats, and sheep. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Abel also enjoyed watching sports and really loved to watch soccer.

Abel is survived by his wife, Martha Rodriguez of Dodge City; two daughters, Alma Robison and husband Paul of Cimarron, and Zoraya Williams and husband John of Cimarron; two sons, Richard Rodriguez and wife Tracy of Dodge City, and Abel Lee Rodriguez of Topeka; eight grandchildren, Kimberly Williams, Andrew Rodriguez, Danielle Kenton, Lensie Williams, Trenton Rittenhouse, Tristan Kalvoda, Kamryn Rodriguez, and Alyia Rodriguez; three great grandchildren, Oliver Rodriguez, London Skye Saurez, and Lennon Rodriguez; five brothers and eight sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Wednesday January 4, 2023 at 2:00 PM.  Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Tuesday January 3, 2023 from Noon to 8:00 PM. Abel creció en México y se casó con Martha E. Terrazas el 14 de febrero del 1969 en México. Después de su matrimonio se mudaron a Colorado y en 1981 mudaron a su familia a Dodge City. Trabajó para National Beef en Dodge City durante 35 años antes de jubilarse. A Abel le encantaba estar afuera cuidando de sus gallinas, cabras y ovejas. Le encantaba pasar tiempo con su familia, especialmente con sus nietos. Abel también disfrutaba viendo deportes y realmente amaba ver fútbol.

A Abel lo sobreviven su esposa, Martha Rodríguez de Dodge City; dos hijas, Alma Robison y esposo Paul de Cimarron, y Zoraya Williams y esposo John de Cimarron; dos hijos, Richard Rodriguez y esposa Tracy de Dodge City, y Abel Lee Rodriguez de Topeka; ocho nietos, Kimberly Williams, Andrew Rodriguez, Danielle Kenton, Lensie Williams, Trenton Rittenhouse, Tristan Kalvoda, Kamryn Rodriguez y Alyia Rodriguez; tres bisnietos, Oliver Rodríguez, London Skye Saurez y Lennon Rodríguez; cinco hermanos y ocho hermanas. Lo precedieron en la muerte sus padres.

El funeral se llevará a cabo en Swaim Funeral Chapel el miércoles 4 de enero del 2023 a las 2:00 p. m. El entierro seguirá en el cementerio Maple Grove en Dodge City. El velorio será en Swaim Funeral Home el martes 3 de enero del 2023 de 12:00 p. m. a 8:00 p. m.
