Cimarron - Alan Dean Ashcraft, 63, of Cimarron, died November 8, 2016 at Wesley Medical Center, in Wichita. He was born March 22, 1953 in Dodge City, the son of Cora Frances Ashcraft.

Alan graduated from Cimarron High School in 1972.

A lifetime resident of Cimarron, he worked at the Shepard Center for 40 years. On February 14th, 1989 he married Marty King in Cimarron, she survives.

Survivors include: Four Children: Deana Ashcraft and Jatinder Dua of Shrewsbury, Mass, Robbie and Jason Hundertmark of Scott City, KS, Bucky Ashcraft of Montezuma, KS, and Staci Ashcraft and Scott Dressler of Dodge City, KS. 6 step children: Paula and Glenn Jensen, Toni Patton, Lori and Bill Goodwin, and daughter-in-law Patty Holt all of Dodge City, KS, Jimmie and Angie Holt of Minneola, KS, 27 grand children, and 6 great grand children.

He was preceded in death by his mother, four brothers Dale Ashcraft, Lawrence Downtain, Lloyd Downtain, Butch Downtain, one step son Steven Holt, and 2 grand daughters Jinnie Holt and Sariah Dua.

Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial was held. Public book signing will be held Thursday November 17, 2016 at Swaim Funeral Home in Cimarron from 12 - 7pm for friends and family.
