Obituary

Alan Ray Lloyd, 55, died Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at his home in Dodge City. He was born on May 6, 1954 in Dodge City, the son of Roland D."Jack" and Dolores (Johnson) Lloyd.

Alan graduated from Dodge City High School. He then attended community college in Roswell, New Mexico. Alan enlisted in the U.S. Navy in June of 1972 and served for eight years. He most recently worked for Dodge City Community College in maintence. Alan enjoyed fishing and shooting pool.

He was a member of Howard Gotschall Post #1714 V.F.W. of Dodge City.

Alan is survived by his parents, Roland D. "Jack" and Dolores Lloyd of Dodge City; one brother, Davie Lloyd of Dodge City; and two sisters, Kay Deaver and husband Denny and Norma Clare both of Dodge City; three nephews; and two nieces. He was preceded in death by an uncle, Percy Lloyd and his grandparents.

Memorial service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City, on Friday, October 2, 2009 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Dick Robbins presiding. Inurnment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City with Military Rites by Howard Gotschall Post #1714 V.F.W. There will be no public visitation as cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the register book at Swaim Funeral Home on Thursday, October 1, 2009 from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Memorials can be made to Kansas Soldiers' Home-Fort Dodge in care of the funeral home.
