Obituary

Wichita – Alberto "Beto" Ramirez, 52, died September 23, 2024 at his home in Wichita, Kansas.  He was born on April 11, 1972 at Juarez, Chihuahua Mexico the son of Salomon and Antonia Ortega-Montes.

He was a lifelong resident of Dodge City and dedicated his life to taking care of others in nursing for the last 20 years. He loved to read Stephen King novels, fishing, collecting antiques, trinkets, tools and working on cars in his spare time. Mr. Ramirez also loved to go to Flea Markets and antique shops, and loved to collect unique knives and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a good artist and was known for his beautiful penmanship.

He once proudly owned and operated a secondhand store named "The New and Used Outlet" in Dodge City. On April 11, 1999, Alberto's birthday, he met Christella Garcia and went on to marry her on July 23, 1999. He became a loving, wonderful and dedicated father to four daughters. He always put his children and grandchildren first.

He is survived by his mother, Antonia Montes; his children, Alize Taylor and husband Rashaan Taylor, Isabel Ramirez, Marisol Ramirez, Alexandra Ramirez and husband Jaime Garcia Torres, Daisy Ramirez, Alexander James Ramirez and wife, Katie, and Kayla Beth Ramirez and husband Chris Coghill. He is also survived by his grandchildren,  Mila Taylor, Messiah Taylor, Leonardo Alberto Garcia, Sofia Garcia. He is also survived by his siblings Lorenzo Ramirez and companion Kay Davis, Edgar Montes, Salomon Montes Jr., Christina Flores and husband Salvador.

He was preceded in death by his father Salomon Montes, Grandmother Emilia, Grandmother Camerina "Carmen" Rodriguez, Grandfather Cecil Rodriguez and cousin and fishing partner Ricky Myers.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Saturday October 5, 2024 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Elias Castillo presiding. Entombment will follow at Scroggins Mausoleum in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Friday, October 4, 2024 from 12:00 to 8:00 PM Memorials are suggested to Alberto Ramirez Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
