Dodge City - Alden L. Cooper, 78, died March 10, 2017 at the Hill Top House in Bucklin. He was born on January 1, 1939 at Garden City, Kansas the son of Glen A. and Roma (Webster) Cooper.
He graduated from Dodge City High School in 1956 and enlisted in the Navy that same year rising to the rank of Aviation Structural Mechanic AMS 3. After serving his country in the Navy her returned to Dodge City to help his parents run the Cooper Theaters, before returning to California to run a large drive- in theater for Syufy Theaters in Vallejo, California. Mr. Cooper returned to Dodge City to open up a muffler shop and ran it for several years.
He is survived by his brother Ron Cooper and wife Pamela of Dodge City; son Alden Glen Cooper of Kansas City, Kansas; two nieces Doriane Stimpert; Angela Rummel; one nephew R.J. Cooper.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside service will be held at Kansas Veterans Cemetery at Ft. Dodge on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 2:00 PM with full Military Honors by the Naval Military Honors Group and Howard Gotschall V.F.W. Post #1714. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to the Donor's Choice in care of the funeral home.
