IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alice Beulah
Hayden
October 26, 1933 – September 15, 2018
Fowler - Alice Beulah (Lollar) Hayden, age 84 went home to glory on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at Meade District Hospital surrounded by many of her family members. She was born to Benton and Mayme (Highley) Lollar in Hooker, Oklahoma on October 26, 1933.
Alice graduated from Guymon High School, 1951 and on September 17, 1954 she met the man that would become the love of her life, Samuel L. Hayden. Alice said it was 'love at first sight' and married him only 10 days later on September 27, 1954 in Hooker, Oklahoma.
To this union, six children were born: Gay Lynn, Lance Bryan, Theresa Lee, Samuel Finchett, Debra Ann and Rebecca Ruth. She and Sam were later to raise two nieces and one nephew, Brenda Gayle, Janet Ruth and Samuel James.
Alice was a pioneer woman in her own right, as she traveled extensively with 5 young children while following her Navy husband to many different stations across the United States and in Scotland; then finally settling in Fowler, Kansas in 1974. Alice was the Commander in Chief of her home and family. She was very passionate about her faith and relationship with God and equally passionate about her family. Alice loved to read, but to be honest, her true hobby was her family.
Anyone who came into Alice's home became family and were expected to stay and eat. Her world revolved around God, Sam, family and food/fellowship. Alice (Sam too), were quintessential grandparents lavishing all their love and energies on their grandchildren and great- grandchildren. To some, that's how Grandpa became 'Boogie" and Grandma became "GiGi."
Alice became very passionate about her walk with God in the 70's and became quite evangelistic in sharing her love of the Lord, continuing to do so until her passing. She was known as the prayer warrior of her family and all prayer requests made their way to her.She was also the 'Great Encourager' to her family and all she met. Alice was always quick to say 'You can do this," and always compliment everyone she met and was just as quick to lead by example. With Alice, nothing was ever impossible, she was a great goal setter and usually completed every goal.
A special thing about Alice was she often had a way of 'just knowing' things in advance, often through the Spirit and even through dreams on occasion. For example, many pregnancies were 'known' by her; as well as many healings before science would show them to be true. She would say "everything's going to be just fine, I know it."
Survivors include Sam of the home; children, Gay and Dale Skidmore of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico; Lance and Vickie Hayden of Wichita, Kansas; Theresa Graham and significant other David Smith of Sherman, Texas; Sam and Kim Hayden of Ulysses, Kansas; Debra & Boyd Foster of Fowler, Kansas; Brenda Grooms of Springfield, Missouri; Janet and Eric Welker of Meade, Kansas and Samuel Lollar of Sullivan, Missouri. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren with two on the way. Alice is also survived by three siblings, Esther Parker, Byron Lollar and Marie Hicks; in addition to many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends she called family. Alice is preceded in death by infant daughter Rebecca Ruth Hayden, her parents, John Benton Lollar and Mayme Ruth (Highley) Lollar; siblings, Irma Hicks, Joy Hicks, Johnny Lollar, Clayton Lollar, Jack Lollar, Wayne Lollar, June Woods, Delbert Lollar, and Earl Lollar.
Alice will be missed immensely; however, her greatest wish was for all of her family to be saved and 'right with the Lord." Just as a message to all, 'she wants to see all of you in Heaven.' AND as she has the 'Patience of Job' - she will be waiting for you!
