Spearville - Alice Zurbuchen, 101, died December 25, 2017 at Presbyterian Manor of the Plains in Dodge City.  She was born on June 15, 1916 in Wright, the daughter of Gerhard and Dena (Bosman) Bleumer.

Alice attended the country school in Wright.  She married Paul Zurbuchen on February 19, 1938 at Wright.  He preceded her in death on December 11, 1968. They raised their family on the farm southwest of Spearville.  Alice loved to spoil her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was a member of the St. Andrews Catholic Church and the St. Andrew's Altar Society both of Wright.

Alice is survived by a son, John Zurbuchen of Spearville; a daughter, Ann Claussen and husband Bill of Spearville; her twin sister, Helen Lix of Dodge City; six grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by a daughter Lynn Nelson; three brothers, Bill, Henry, and Lawrence Bleumer; and three sisters, Dora Doll, Minnie Lutz, and Viola Shean.

Vigil Service will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Wright on Thursday December 28, 2017 at 7:00 PM.  Funeral Mass will be held at the church on Friday December 29, 2017 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Robert A. Schremmer presiding.  Burial will follow at St. Andrew's Cemetery in Wright.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Dodge City on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from noon to 5:00 PM.  Memorials are suggested to the St. Andrew's Cemetery Fund  in care of the funeral home.
