Alma Louise (Carson) Moore, 63, died Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at Western Plains Medical Complex in Dodge City. She was born on March 2, 1946, the daughter of Richard and Choe Carson.
Alma was raised in Butler, Missouri where she graduated from high school. On September 9, 1965, she married Robert G. Moore in Pleasanton, Kansas. They resided in Pleasanton and raised their family there. Alma was very active with her children's activities. She served as den mother, scout leader, 4-H leader, and softball coach. In 1999, they moved to Dodge City. Alma enjoyed reading and gardening. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Alma is survived by her husband, Robert G. Moore of Dodge City; one son, Robert G. Moore, Jr. of Bentonville, Arkansas; four daughters, Jerri I. Moore of McClure, Pennslyvania, Traci C. Moore of Cincinnati, Ohio, Joanne M. Moore of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and Tobitha L. Moore of Dodge City; one brother, Larry Carson of Topeka; 12 grandchildren, Timothy R. Metcalf of Dodge City, Kristiana C. Moore of Pennsicola, Florida, Jessie L. Moore, Chevy T. Moore, Nicholas S. Moore, and Corey W. Moore, all of Bentonville, Arkansas, Jorden D. Moore, Christina M. Moore, and Seth L. Moore all of Cincinnati, Ohio, Maigan B. Moore, Mason L. Moore, and Morgan M. Moore all of Bella Vista, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Lester.
Memorial service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City, on Monday, April 6, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dick Robbins presiding. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
