Obituary

Kinsley-Alojzy Biarda, 74, peacefully left this earth on March 25, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on June 13th , 1949 at Gdansk, Poland the son of Jan and Jadwiga (Swed) Biarda. On July 8th, 1973 he married the love of his life Krystyna (Lenkiewicz) Biarda. They raised two daughters Margaret and Eva.

In the 1980's Alojzy had to make a hard decision to be away from his family to find a way for freedom and to seek asylum from Communist Rule in Poland. He relinquished his Polish citizenship to wait at an Austrian refugee camp where he was able to eat, sleep, and wait for the Austrian government to grant him permission. He was able to be sponsored by the Dodge City Catholic Diocese to come to Kansas in 1981.

While in the United States Alojzy worked various jobs to save money so he could find a way to be reunited with his family. In April of 1985, he was once again reunited with the love of his life, Krystyna, both daughters, and his mother-in-law, Genowefa Lenkiewicz. Once the family was all together Alojzy and Krystyna both worked long hours milking cows while mother-in-law provided support. Alojzy with family by his side moved a few times from Chicago, Illinois to Larned to Offerle, and lastly to Kinsley.

He was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
