Alonso Beltran-Chacon's Obituary

Our family is heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of Alonso Beltran on April 3, 2026 at St. Catherine Hospital in Dodge City. He was born on November 5, 1963 in Cuauhtemoc, Chihuahua to Florentino (Tino) Betran Lopes and Pilar Chacon Najera. Alonso spent his early years growing up in Mexico where he learned the value of hard work and unwavering importance of family. On May 22, 1987 he married his wife Lourdes Rascon.

In the early 1990s seeking new opportunities they moved to Dodge City, KS. They always kept Mexico and their rich cultural heritage close to their hearts, traveling back multiple times a year. Alonso worked at Cargill as a saw operator for over 30 years. In December 2025, he retired and began traveling back to Mexico, spending time setting up his dream of a family ranch, cattle raising, horse riding, and a simpler life for all of his loving family to enjoy.

Those who knew him best knew that his dedication extended far beyond his job. He was a devoted son even from a long distance. When he wasn't looking after his own family he could be found working hard in his yard or enjoying a game of soccer. While he could be grumpier than most, often expressing his opinions with a stern look or a blunt remark, those close to him knew that his hard exterior was merely a protective shell. Underneath it all was a man with a gentle heart and a deep, fierce passion for his family. He loved his family in his own quiet, unwavering way-through acts of service, consistent presence, and providing a stable foundation for his children and grandchildren.

His love for horses started at a young age and he was often pictured on or leading a cherished family member on a horse. Alonso's heart was particularly full during the holidays, especially Christmas, when he delighted in spoiling his children and grandchildren (sometimes too much), spending time surrounded by family/friends and creating lasting memories that will be cherished forever.

Alonso is already profoundly missed by all who knew him, especially by his beloved wife Lourdes, who stood by his side through every season of life. He will be known for being a dedicated provider, always willing to lend a hand to anyone who asked and he leaves behind a legacy built on family, integrity and selfless dedication to everyone he loved.

Left to cherish Alonso's memory are his wife of the home; three children, Daisy Beltran and Molly Watson of Ensign, Gabriel Alonso Beltran and Elizabeth Garcia of Ensign, Daniela Beltran and Jacob Haag of Newton; grandchilldren, Sabyan and wife Kaylene, Aubri, Keagan, Mariana, Tino, Ezequiel, and Cain; his mother, Pilar of Mexico; sister Francisca and husband Jorge Lopez of Morton, TX, brother Manuel Beltran of Chihuahua and sister Mary and husband Alejandro Nevares of Chihuahua along with many nieces and nephews.

When Alonso made his journey through Heaven's gates, he was greeted by his father Tino Beltran, brother Rene Beltran, and sister Maria Antonia Beltran who preceded him.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026 at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Dodge City from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A rosary will follow the visitation beginning at 7:00 PM. Funeral services and burial will be held in Anahuac, Chihuahua, Mexico at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the family in care of the funeral home.
