Obituary

Amy Lucile Winger, 92, died April 10, 2011 at Trinity Manor Nursing Home in Dodge City. She was born on March 8, 1919 in Brownell, the daughter of Lyman and Alva (Owens) Jennings.

She married Dwight Eugene Winger on March 30, 1941 at Ness City. He preceded her in death on October 15, 2006. Along with her husband, Amy was actively involved in farming.

She was a member of the of the First United Methodist Church of Dodge City, United Methodist Women of Dodge City, Daughters of the American Revolution of Dodge City, and the Kansas State University Home Extension Unit.

Amy is survived by one son, David Winger and wife Vada of Sublette; two daughters, Patty Owens of Dodge City and Paula Baumann of Hutchinson; one daughter-in-law, Pat Winger of Dodge City; one brother, John Jennings and wife Jean of Griswald, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by one son, Larry; one great grandson, Kaleb Stateler; one great granddaughter, Alanna Owens; two sisters, Opal Pollock and Arva Brazel; and one brother, William Jennings.

Graveside funeral service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Adelia Hooley presiding. There will be no public visitation.
