Andee Lee Fry, born on December 28th, 1942 to Ernest Carl and Margaret (Höhner) Fry, at St. Anthony Hospital in Dodge City, Kansas, died peacefully at home on May 21st, 2026 at the age of 83.
He graduated from Montezuma High School in 1960 and briefly attended Dodge City Junior College. On November 28th, 1964, he married the love of his life, Gayle Adrienne McReynolds. Andee served as a SPEC-4 in the United States Army and the couple spent their first year of marriage at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
In October of 1965, the couple returned to Montezuma to begin building their life and family together. Andee was a dedicated farmer and the couple spent their lives involved in farming. Their first child, a baby girl, was stillborn on February 28th, 1968. Daughter, Nicole Ann, was born on March 24th, 1969 and brought with her a new meaning to life.
Andee enjoyed spending time with his wife and family, fishing, boating, farming, and working in his shop. He also enjoyed traveling and some of his highlight destinations were Port Aransas, Texas, Maine and an Alaskan cruise. His greatest joys in life were his wife, daughter and granddaughters.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ernest Carl and Margaret (Höhner) Fry, brother Eugene Fry, and his infant daughter. He is survived by his wife, Gayle Fry, his daughter, Nicole Fry-Bentley and husband Phillip Frank of Dodge City, granddaughters, Adrienne Bentley, Andrea Bentley and her fiancé Luc Bondurant all of Edmond, Oklahoma, and his two nieces, Jane Jantz and husband Dean of Montezuma, and Karen Schilling and husband Matt Elmore City, Oklahoma.
Funeral service will be Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Montezuma United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, May 22, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Montezuma. Suggested memorials are to the Montezuma United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
