Obituary

Dodge City - Anita Mary Hunter, 95, died August 13, 2018 at Trinity Manor Nursing Home, Dodge City. She was born on March 1, 1923 at Hutchinson, the daughter of Patrick and Etta (Calem) Brady.

Anita moved with her family to Dodge City as an infant and has been a lifetime resident since. She attended Dodge City Schools and was a graduate of Dodge City High School. On August 2, 1941 she married Leon Hunter at Dodge City. She and her husband owned and operated Hunter Liquior Store in Dodge City. Anita later worked as an office clerk at JC Penny's until she retired.

She was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe and church Alter Society both of Dodge City.

Anita is survived by her three daughters, Sharon Cogliati  and husband John of Chipita Park, Colorado, Lynn Keck and husband Greg of Dodge City, and Tina Lekey and husband Tim of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Leon Hunter.

Graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery on Saturday August 18, 2018 at 10:30 AM.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Friday August 17, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with the family present to receive friends.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
