Montezuma - Anna Lewallen, 93, died July 25, 2018 at her home in Montezuma.  She was born on March 1, 1925 in Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of Charles and Gertrude Cohron.

As a young girl, she attended school in Kansas City, Missouri, graduating from Westport High School.  After graduation, Anna was a typist and stenographer for the Civil Service.  She later worked at the FAA Center in Olathe, retiring in 1986. Anna met Harold Lewallen at a square dance.  The two were united in marriage on October 28, 1960 in Kansas City, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on May 25, 2008.  Anna and Harold moved to Montezuma in 1992. Anna enjoyed sewing, gardening, and spending time with her church family.

Anna was an active member of Morningside Community Church in Montezuma.  She was an AWANA leader for many years.

Anna is survived by two children, Susan Dworak and husband Leonard of Aurora, Colorado and John Gill and wife Toni of Escalante, Utah; two step daughters, Margaret Foster of Chesapeake, Virginia and Catherine Michael of Mastic Beach, New York; two grandchildren, Joelle James of Roseville, Michigan and Eric Townsend of North Carolina; three great grandchildren, Sarah, Nathan, and Bryce James of Roseville, Michigan; brother-in-law, Tom Lewallen and wife Liz of Montezuma.  She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Harold.

Funeral service will be held at Morningside Community Church, Montezuma on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Tim Erickson presiding.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Montezuma.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Montezuma on Friday, August 3, 2018 from noon to 8:00 PM with the family receiving friends from 7-8 PM.  Memorials are suggested to Morningside Community Church for the AWANA program in care of the funeral home.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
