ANNA DORIS ROBINSON
Dodge City - Anna Doris Robinson, 94, died December 25, 2011 at her home in Dodge City. She was born on August 1, 1917 at the family home near Ensign, the daughter of Alphy and Tillie (Dieffenbach) Aeschliman.
She married Frank A. Robinson on July 26, 1942 in Wichita. He preceded her in death on February 7, 1997. Doris graduated from Ensign High School and the Wichita Business College and was employed by KG &E in Wichita. She was a devoted wife and spent many hard working hours with her husband, Frank. Doris moved to Dodge City in December of 1997 after living all of her life on her farm south of Ensign. Her hobbies included playing the organ, textile painting, and doing research on family genealogy. Family ties were very important to her. She especially love cats and had many of them at her farm.
Doris was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dodge City; Cave Homemakers of Ensign; the Kansas Genealogy Society; and the United Methodist Women's Circle Three.
Doris is survived by nieces and nephews, Neola Herrman and husband Clarence of Ensign, Leroy Reinert and wife Vivian of Westminister, Colorado, Arlene Bunnell of Copeland, Verna Smith and husband Bo of Wichita, Mary Ann Hendrix and husband Bill of Dodge City, Kathy Hornung and husband Dennis of Cimarron, Susan Dieker and husband Charlie of Topeka, Irvin W.(Bill) Robinson and wife Donna of Dodge City, Dave Robinson and wife Deborah of Dodge City, Bill Gough and wife Janine of Aurora, Colorado, and Linda Coppinger and husband Michael of Amarillo, Texas; special extended family, Robert and Lupe Holguin; "Granddaughters", Doris, Christy, Andrea, and Adriana of Fowler; "Great Grandsons", Desmond and Chris Andrew; and numerous great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her loving caregiver of 5 1/2 years, Carolyn Thompson. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Irvin Aeschliman; and one sister, Bertha Reinert.
Funeral service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Dodge City on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Lance Carrithers presiding. Burial will follow at the Ensign Cemetery in Ensign. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 from noon to 8:00 PM with the family receiving friends from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church or the Ensign Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
