Dodge City - Anthony Ray Sandoval, 71, died June 12, 2022 at SunPorch in Dodge City. He was born on April 21, 1951 in the Mexican Village in Dodge City, the son of Eutimio (Tim B) and Pilar (Moreno) Sandoval.
Anthony was a lifetime resident of Dodge City. He graduated from Dodge City High School and went on to attend St. Mary of the Plains College. Anthony worked as a security officer for HyPlains/National Beef. He also worked in the upholstery business. Anthony enjoyed spending time outdoors. He liked to fish, played baseball, was excellent at it, as well as umpired. Spending time with family was also important to Anthony. He loved being with his children and grandchildren.
He was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Knights of Columbus, GI Forum, and the American Legion all of Dodge City.
Anthony is survived by his children, Lisa Sandoval of Wichita, Marty Sandoval and wife Michelle of Phoenix, Arizona, Josh Sandoval and wife Kristen of Mulvane, Shawn Sandoval and wife Allison of Dodge City, Anthony Sherrill of Florida, Jasmine Strecker and husband Jason of Spearville, Jaiden Vela and husband Ruben of Dodge City, and Aaron Sherrill of Holcomb; one brother, Daniel Sandoval; 14 grandchildren; and two great grandsons. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John and Nicholas Sandoval.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 2, 2022 at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City with a rosary at 1:30 PM prior to the mass. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City. There is no visitation as cremation has taken place. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
