Satanta - Ardyth Rose Decker, 89, died August 12, 2017 at Wesley Hospital in Wichita. She was born on July 30, 1928 in Cripple Creek, Colorado, the daughter of Leslie F. and Inez (Leffler) Beery.
Ardyth Rose attended school in Cripple Creek. Her family then moved to Pueblo, Colorado and she attended Centennial High School. On April 25, 1947, Ardyth Rose married Alva Myron Decker in Liberal. He preceded her in death on March 6, 2012. The couple moved to Satanta where they raised their family. Ardyth Rose enjoyed staying home and raising her children. In her spare time, she liked to make quilts, crochet and embroidery. She made quilts for all of her grandchildren. Her family also remembers her wonderful cooking.
She was a member of the Church of Christ, Satanta.
Ardyth Rose is survived by two sons, Gary M. Decker and wife Elaine of Wickes Arkansas and Timothy A. Decker and wife Linda of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one daughter, Gerie J. Allen and husband Matt of Derby; one brother, Fred Beery of Wichita; two sisters, Gerie Piserchio of Pueblo and Helen Dwier also of Pueblo; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Alva, she is preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Arthur, Larry, Donald, and Leslie Beery.
Funeral service will be held at Church of Christ, Satanta on Thursday August 17, 2017 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Richard Dent presiding. Burial will follow at Dudley Township Cemetery in Satanta. Visitation will be at Church of Christ on Wednesday August 16, 2017 from 2:00 – 8:00 PM.
