Dodge City - Arlyce Gerdes, 78, died June 22, 2018 at Sun Porch Nursing Home in Dodge City. She was born on December 10, 1939 at Beatrice, Nebraska the daughter of Philip Lee and Martha (Mahloch) Burney.

She married Gerhard Gerdes on April 9, 1961 at Hope Lutheran Church in Dodge City, he preceded her in death on May 23, 2004. She loved helping with various church activities and most importantly serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Mrs. Gerdes was very proud of her grandchildren. She loved going to the Depot Dinner Theater.

She was a member of the Christ The King Lutheran Church of Dodge City.

She is survived by her three sons Aaron Gerdes and wife Amy of Dodge City; Tim Gerdes and wife Christie of Great Bend; John P. Gerdes of Wichta; one daughter Rhonda Gerdes of Kansas City, Missouri.  She is also survived by five grandchildren Tyler Burrow, Nicholas and Elizabeth Gerdes, Alexa and Aubrey Gerdes as well as one sister Meredith Dixon of Vernon, Alabama and one brother Philip Burney of Dodge City.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be held at Christ The King Lutheran Church on Wednesday June 27, 2018 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Corky Spitler presiding.  Burial will follow at Christ The King Lutheran Cemetery in Ford County.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
