Dodge City – Audrey Jane Pogue, 92, died May 5, 2018 at her home in rural Ford County.  She was born on July 28, 1925 at Everett, Massachusetts the daughter of George and  Mae (Vaughn) Sweetland.

She married Cleve Charles Pogue on July 1, 1945 in Salisburg, New Hampshire, he preceded her in death on September 26, 2001. Mrs. Pogue was a graduate of Port Arthur College in Port Arthur, Texas. She worked as a auditor in the accounting department at Harvard University. Mrs. Pogue was very active in helping with the Friendship Feast at the First Presbyterian Church. She also enjoyed sewing and crocheting, making many of her own clothes. Mrs. Pogue loved spending time with her family and swimming with her grandchildren. She loved traveling to Alaska with her husband as well as going to Colorado and Arizona to visit family there. She also loved living on the family farm.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Dodge City.

She is survived by her three daughters Leila Duncan and husband John of Dodge City; Linda Partridge of Ness City; Janet Wakeman of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; two sons Cleve Pogue and wife Glenda of Cave Creek, Arizona; Lee Pogue and wife Nannette of Dodge City. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

She was preceded by her parents; one brother George Sweetland; two sisters Virginia Sweetland  and Beatrice Sweetland a son-in-law Junior Wakeman and Linda Partridge's significant other Gary Antenen.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Thursday May 10, 2018 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Ryan Webster presiding.  Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  Memorials are suggested to Friendship Feast or Hospice of The Prairie in care of the funeral home.
