Barbara J. Caskey passed away November 1, 2013 at the Presbyterian Manor of the Plains, Dodge City.
She was born May 27, 1928, in McLouth, Kansas to Joseph and Annie Jungmann. The early part of her life was spent in the McLouth and Topeka area where she graduated from high school. She married Harry Caskey, contractor, in May 1947. They built a cabin in Wyoming in the 1970's and spent several years living and exploring in the surrounding area. They lived during the winter in their RV in Tucson, AZ.
Barbara was a bookkeeper for Mid West Salvage until retirement. She enjoyed being included in the lives of her daughter and family in Dodge City over the past 35 years. Barbara always enjoyed traveling and was able to join her family on numerous trips.
She was preceded in death by Harry, husband of 31 years; parents; sister, Joann Woodman, and brother, Joe Jungmann. She is survived by her daughter Tonya (Jim) Lewis, Dodge City; and a son, Bill (Glenda) Caskey, Washington, Utah; and a sister, Myra McHenry of McLouth, KS. Barbara had 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City. Burial will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 6, 2013 in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery (formerlyMemorial Park Cemetery) in Topeka with a graveside service for family and friends. Visitation for Mrs. Caskey will be Noon to 8:00 P.M.
