Dodge City - Barbara Lubbe, 35, passed April 25, 2025 at her home in Dodge City. She was born on June 14, 1989, in Dodge City, the daughter of Mary Eloise Lopez.
Barbara was a lifetime resident of Dodge City, graduating from Dodge City High School in 2007. Following graduation, she went on to further her education at the University of Kansas. Barbara returned to Dodge City and worked as a para at Miller Elementary School and later at Doll Law Firm. While working full time, Barbara went back to school at Friends University and earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She then went to work at Kennedy McKee and Company.
On October 23, 2021, Barbara was united in marriage to the love of her life, Johann Lubbe in Dodge City. The couple made their home in Dodge City, but traveled when they could with one of their most recent trips to Palm Springs, CA. Barbara and Johann together raised their pitbull fur babies, Enzo and Lola. Barbara enjoyed all styles of music and would travel long distances to go to concerts with those she loved. She was passionate about cooking, something that she learned from her mother. Barbara was always learning new recipes and venturing out to try new things.
She is survived by her husband, Johann of Dodge City; two brothers, Daniel Archuleta and Michael Archuleta both of Dodge City; uncles, Greg, Robert, and Richard Lopez all of Dodge City; a cousin, Elizabeth Lopez of Dodge City; and her beloved pitbulls, Enzo and Lola. Barbara is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Eloise Lopez; a cousin, Holly Archuleta; and grandparents, Guadalupe and Agruelio Lopez.
Funeral mass will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City, on Friday, May 2, 2025, at 2:00 PM with Father Wesley Schawe presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Thursday, May 1, 2025, from noon to 5:00PM. Vigil Service will be held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at 7:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to the family in care of the funeral home.
