IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Barbara Ann
Maris
March 17, 1944 – July 22, 2025
Wichita - Barbara Ann Maris, 81, passed away on July 22, 2025 at Rolling Hills Health and Rehab of Wichita. Barbara was born on March 17, 1944 in South Dakota. She grew up on a farm with her mother Elaine Oberlander, father, Donald Frederick, brother, Dayton Belau, and sisters Susan Harris and Deb Wade. Barbara attended and graduated from Redfield High School.
Shortly after, she moved to Colorado, and there started her family with Bob Reynolds. Robert being the eldest son, and Tim being the younger. After moving to Kansas a couple years later, Stasha was born, and Dayton, the youngest son. Her family was always most important, giving her children independence, love, and support.
She worked long nights and early mornings, but it was all worth it for her family. She was a very forgiving person and never hesitated to help someone out. Throughout her early life, she worked as an Insurance Agent, and a Nurse. Later on, she started her own cleaning business and worked there until retirement. There would be days with long hours, but she was still eager to come home to her family.
Barbara enjoyed gardening and loved all types of flowers. Even though she delegated mowing to the kids, the yard was always in tip-top shape. Her grandkids helped her in the vegetable garden, whether it was common maintenance or planting new seeds. She loved spending time with the ones she loved. Barbara wasn't one to ask for anything but would help wherever she could. She was always there to support, even if it was just a hug. Her personality was truly one of a kind – spunky, and bold, yet benevolent. Her family loved her very much and she loved them. Barbara will be missed and remembered.
