Obituary

SUBLETTE - Barbara Joan Tasset, 79, died April 19, 2013 at Bethel Home in Montezuma. She was born on September 23, 1933 at Kirksville, Missouri, the daughter of Loren Wesley and Helen Irene (Maize) Craig.

Barbara attended school in Kirksville, Missouri. She married William Z. Black on October 27, 1950 in Pampa, Texas. She later married Paul Tasset on October 27, 1963 in Pampa, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1996. They made their home in Dodge City where they raised their family. Barbara moved to Sublette to be with her daughter in 2003. In 2005, she moved to Bethel Home in Montezuma. Barbara enjoyed camping, music, and entertaining her family.

Barbara touched many hearts during her life. Those hearts waiting in heaven will bless her with the same kindness and comfort they received while on earth. Barbara is in good hands. Her family would like to thank the staff of Bethel Home for the loving care of Mom for the past eight years.

She attended the Church of Christ in Dodge City.

Barbara is survived by four sons, David Black and wife Diane of Chaparral, New Mexico, John Black and wife Carol of Aurora, Colorado, Stephan Black and spouse Terry Phillips of Portland, Oregon, and Robert Tasset of Dodge City; one daughter, Laura Koehn and husband Brad of Sublette; one step-daughter, Verla O'Keefe of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; one sister, Nancy Box of Grand Saline, Texas; two brothers, John Craig of Naples, Florida and Larry Craig of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband Paul, she is preceded in death by her parents and one step daughter, Cheryl Peterson.

Graveside service will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Windthorst on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Gary L. Bennett presiding. There will be no public visitation.
