Obituary

DODGE CITY - B. B. Archer, 87, died Saturday, September 26, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Center, Dodge City. He was born on February 14, 1922 at Dodge City, the son of Edward G. and Sadie B. (Bealmear) Archer.

B.B. was a graduate of Dodge City High School and Dodge City Community College. He was a farmer and stockman. B.B. was a former Union Equity and Dodge City Roundup Inc. board member. On May 9, 1954 he married Deloris Diehl at Dodge City.

He was a member of the First Christian Church of Dodge City, where he served as an Elder and Deacon. He was also lifelong member of the American Quarter Horse Association, Dodge City Roundup, Kansas Wheat Growers Association and Keenagers of Ensign.

B.B. is survived by his wife, Deloris Archer of Dodge City; son, Charles Archer of Dodge City, daughter, Diane Soza and husband Paul of Goddard; sister, Edna Mae Moomaw of Dodge City; three grandchildren, Michelle, Sarah and Jacob. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Margaret Thompson.

Funeral service will be held at the First Christian Church on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 11:00 AM with Mr. Phil Scott and Mr. Clyde Goff presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Monday, September 28, 2009 from Noon to 8:00 PM. Memorials can be made to the First Christian Church or Charity of the Donor's Choice both in care of the funeral home. Personal Condolences may be left at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
