Dodge City - Benjamin "El Caballo" Beatriz, 51, died October 13, 2013 at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita . He was born on March 7, 1962 at Usmajac, Jalisco, Mexico the son of Jose and Josephina (Crisostomo) Beatriz..

He came to Dodge City in 1979 and worked for National Beef of Dodge City for several years. On May 12, 1982 he married Margaret Gonzalez in Dodge City.

He was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe of Dodge City.

Benjamin is survived by his wife Margaret Beatriz, Dodge City; two sons, Desi Garcia, Kansas City and Jon Garcia, Van Buren, Arkansas; a daughter Monica Duran, Dodge City; two brothers Abigay Beatriz, Dodge City, and Jaime Beatriz, Florida; a sister Josefina Beatriz, Dodge City and 13 grandchildren, Blanca Garcia, Jazmyn Garcia, Xavier Garcia, Fabian Garcia, Xariah Garcia, Margarita Beatriz, Jonathan Garcia, Guadalupe Navarrete, Isabella Garcia, Jayla Garcia, Benjamin Navarrete, Jesenya Garcia and Jameson Garcia. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Luciano Beatriz.

Funeral Mass will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Friday, October 18, 2013 at 2:30 P.M. with Rev. Ted Skalsky celebrating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Vigil service will be on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 7:00 P.M. at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, October 17, 2013 from Noon to 7:00 P.M..
