Ensign - Benjamin Dyck, 56, died May 7, 2021 at his home following a long illness. He was born on August 2, 1964 in Cuauhtemoc, Mexico the son of Johann and Elizabeth (Quiring) Dyck.
Benjamin spent his childhood in Cuauhtemoc, Mexico where he attended school. He went to work at the age of 13, working in a cheese factory. Benjamin was baptized in June of 1984 at the Reinlander Church in Mexico. In September of 1984, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Klassen. To this union nine children were born. The family moved to the United States in 2000, first to Oklahoma and then to Kansas. Benjamin worked for various farmers in the area. For the last 11 years, he worked for Harshberger Farms of Fowler. Benjamin enjoyed visiting with his family and friends.
Benjamin is survived by his wife Elizabeth of Ensign; eight children, Eva Thiessen and husband David of Copeland, Judith Wiebe and husband Gerhard of Copeland, Lisa Giesbrecht and husband Jake of Copeland, Susie Friesen and husband Abe of Dodge City, Frank Dyck and wife Susie of Minneola, Jacob Dyck and wife Anna of Meade, Corny Dyck of Copeland, and John Dyck of Ensign; 18 grandchildren; seven brothers; and four sisters. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Benji Dyck; and three sisters.
Funeral service will be held at Reinlaender Mennonite Church on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Haskell County Cemetery, Sublette. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Sublette on Monday, May 10, 2021 from 1:00 to 8:00 PM and Tuesday, May 11, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM.
