Dodge City - Benjamin Vasquez, 58, died September 8, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born on February 16, 1960 in Mexico, the son of Benjamin and Socorro (Gonzalez) Vasquez.

Benjamin attended elementary school in Mexico.  In 1976, he moved to the United States and lived in El Paso, Texas. He met Elisa Cortez in 1992 and six years later they were married.  They moved to Dodge City in 2002.  Benjamin worked at National Beef.  In his spare time, he enjoyed working on his house.

He is survived by his wife, Elisa Vasquez of Dodge City; three children, Noel Vargas and wife Guadalupe, Emil Vargas and wife Marisa, and Idore Vargas all of Dodge City; one sister, Guadalupe V. Castro of Dodge City; 12 grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter with another one on the way.  He is preceded in death by his parents.
