DODGE CITY - Betty Lee Enlow, 94, died July 14, 2021 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City. She was born on July 10, 1927 in Offerle, Kansas the daughter of Forrest B. and Ivess Irene (Dixon) Cox.

Betty grew up in Offerle and moved with her family to Dodge City where she graduated from Dodge City Senior High School in 1945. On September 7, 1945 she married Lyle L. Enlow in Dodge City. Shortly after their marriage they moved to a farm north of Dodge City. In 1960, they moved to the farm where she has resided since. Betty worked for Kansas Power and Light as a bookkeeper and later was the lunchroom manager for Central School for 21 years.

She enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Betty also enjoyed playing cards, doing crossword puzzles, reading, square dancing, gardening, and maintaining her rosebushes and flowers.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Dodge City.

Betty is survived by her children Donna Enlow of Houston, Texas, Glenda Zimmerman (Howard) of Belle Plaine, Kansas, Galen Enlow of Dodge City, and Brenda Peck (Bill) of Dodge City; six grandchildren Nickolas Zimmerman, Rylan Zimmerman, Kayley Campfield; Chelsea Schwartz; Byron Peck and Bryce Peck; and eight great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and brothers Jake, Dale, Forrest Junior, and Bob Cox.

Funeral service will be held at the First Christian Church on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Mr. Jeff Hiers presiding. Burial will follow at Greencrest Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 from noon to 8:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church or Hospice of the Prairie in care of the funeral home.
