Dodge City - Betty Marie Griggs, 76, died November 11, 2017 at Dodge City, KS.   She was born on July 1, 1941 at Eureka, KS , the daughter of Harold Lazzers and Ruby (Purkeypile) White.

Betty grew up in Eureka and attended Eureka schools. She owned and operated a day  care business in Wichita, KS and most recently Dodge City, KS until she retired in May 2015.  She enjoyed spending time at the lake with her family. Two of her favorite pastimes were spending time on her boat "The Kori Dawn" and camping.

Betty is survived by three daughters, Rhonda Fernandez and husband Charles of Dodge City KS, Lisa Reece and husband John of Louisburg, KS, Kristi Hunt and husband Don of Olathe, KS; a son, Travis Mills and wife Jennifer of Sandy, Utah; seven grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; a brother, Robert Lazzers of Severy, KS , and a sister, Sandra Carey of Springhill, TN.  She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Korina Alleman; brother, Harold Lazzers; and sister, Mary Cook.

Graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery on Wednesday November 15, 2017 at 2:00 PM.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel on Tuesday November 14, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with the family present.
