Scott City - Betty Colleen Kennedy, 81, died July 29, 2014 at Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City. She was born on November 17, 1931 in Enid, Oklahoma, the daughter of John C. and Dorothy (Payne) Gay.

Betty attended high school and beauty college in Enid. She worked at several different salons in Enid through out her career. On May 21, 1957, she married Darwin L. Kennedy. He preceded her in death.

Betty is survived by two children, Kendall Kennedy and wife Donna of Phoeniz, Arizona and Karen Kennedy of Laurell, Maryland; two sisters, Vera Buffington of Healy and Mary Ann Haerr of Niceville, Florida; two brothers, Arnold Gay of Jet, Oklahoma and Roy Gay of Enid, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. In addidtion to her husband, Darwin, she is preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Susan Ann Kennedy, and two brothers, Gene and J.C. Gay.
