DODGE CITY - Betty L. McFadden, 91, died March 8, 2014 at 803 Gilman, Dodge City. She was born on August 13, 1922 at Great Bend, the daughter of Harry W. and Pearl (Miller) Johnson.

A Dodge City resident since 1966, moving from Montezuma. Betty was a retired Shaklee dealer and homemaker. On July 4, 1941 she married Jerald E. McFadden at Dodge City. He preceded her in death on February 13, 2001.

She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Dodge City and also attended the First United Methodist Church of Dodge City.

Betty is survived by three daughters, Jerry Gleason and husband Terry of Dodge City, Joyce Fisher and husband Tony of Copeland, and Darla Carson and husband Dennis of Ellinwood; two brothers, Wayne Johnson of Quinlan, Texas and Don Johnson of Dodge City; a sister, Clara Betterton of Ulysses; six grandchildren, Ron Koehn, Jackie Stiles, Aaron Fisher, Damon Carson, Shawna Mosier, and Patrick Gleason; eight great grandchildren, Desire, Dray, Hayden, Tanna, Carson, Caris, Ali, and Anderson; and two great great grandchildren, Trysten and Kami.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Marvin and Richard; two sisters, Vineta and Doris; and a granddaughter, Stacia Carson.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Lance Carrithers and Pastor Greg Savage presiding. Burial will follow at Greencrest Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from Noon to 8:00 PM with the family receiving friends from 5:00 - 8:00 PM.
