Bettye Jo Bartlett, 85, died Thursday, December 8, 2011 at the Minneola District Hospital in Minneola. She was born on January 7, 1926 at Dallas, Texas, the daughter of Ray and Pearl Ethel (Furr) Dick.

On March 27, 1948, she married Gailand Bartlett. He survives. Bettye Jo spent her life as a caring farm wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Dodge City.

In addition to her husband, Gailand, Bettye Jo is survived by two sons, Dr. Randy Bartlett and wife Linda of Russell and Kent Bartlett and wife Ruth of Fowler; two daughters, Lisa Plante and husband Larry of Russell and Tammi Dinges and husband Randy of Littleton, Colorado; 13 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and a son, Kerry Neil Bartlett.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home on Monday, December 12, 2011 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Tom Walters presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Sunday, December 11, 2011 from noon to 6:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Shriners' Burn Hospital in care of the funeral home.
