Beverlee Jean (Patterson) Burns (83), died at Via Christi St Francis, Wichita, KS on December 5, 2009. She was born November 18, 1926 in Ford, KS to Harold and Marguerite (Snook) Patterson where she was a lifelong resident. On January 20, 1946 she was married to Bob D. Burns in Dodge City. He preceded her in death on March 15, 1989.
She graduated from Ford High School where she later taught school, shop class and coached football during the war years and later was Assistant Post Mistress at the Ford Post Office for over 40 years until retirement.
She was a member of the Congregational Church, Eastern Star, Literatae Club, Osteomy Club, Blue Jeans Club & Phatt Ladies Club.
She was always the loving Mother, Grammy, GrammyGreat, Sister and a friend to all she met.
She was preceeded in death by her husband, Bob D. Burns, father and mother, Harold and Marguerite Patterson, and brother, Richard Patterson.
She is survived by son, Randy Burns of Ford; 2 daughters, Barb Hensley of Ford and Candice Burns of Loveland, Colorado: 5 grandchildren and their spouses and 6 greatgrandchildren: a brother Max & wife Neva Patterson of Copeland; and a sister Marilyn Simpson of Dodge City; a brother-in-law Bill Woolley of Camarillo, California; and 'Aunt Bevie' to 3 nephews & 6 nieces and their spouses and children.
Services will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at Willroads Gardens Christian Church at Wilroads Gardens. Interment will follow the service at the Ford Cemetery, Ford, Kansas. There will be no public visitation and the casket will remain closed.
