Obituary

Dodge City - Beverly Kay Maupin, 61, died November 4, 2024 at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on August 9, 1963 in La Junta, Colorado the daughter of Kenneth and Susie (Eck) Engle.

Beverly was raised in Dodge City. It was there that she completed her education, graduating from Dodge City High School in 1981.  Beverly's first and favorite job was at Dairy Queen, she held various jobs; Walmart being another favorite and Broce Construction as a flagger, achieving the best tan of her life.

She married Carl Bunch and together they had two children, Shannon and Brian. He preceded her in death. Beverly later married Chris Maupin. To this union one son was born, Joey.

Beverly loved being with her children and many of their friends were always welcomed in her home. She was a hardworking woman and would do whatever was needed to care for her family.  She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, she enjoyed cooking and putting on a feast for Superbowl gatherings, she loved the outdoors including party's at Ford Co. Lake, a friends reunion at Coldwater Lake and camping at Meade St. Park. She also had fun playing at the casino. Her passion was making scrapbooks for her family, and winning Halloween costume contests. Her greatest love was her children and grandchildren.

Beverly is survived by three children, Shannon Clanton of Ford, Brian "Cody" Bunch of Dodge City, and Joey Maupin and wife Chasity of Dodge City; daughter-in-law, Casey Hupfer of Great Bend and seven grandchildren, Taiya, Alexavier, Zavannah, Chelsea, Danasia, Journey, and Rhyann. Lisa Cox-Burton of Hutchinson was her partner in crime throughout their life to the end. Beverly is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Kenneth Engle; an infant sister, Charlotte Engle; and a grandson, Gavoyn.

Memorial service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Dodge City on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 10:00 AM with Pastor David Johnson presiding.  There is no visitation as cremation has taken place.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
