Cimarron - Bill R. Burns, 70, died October 13, 2012 at his home in Cimarron. He was born on December 30, 1941 in Cimarron, the son of Frank and Viva (Baird) Burns.

Bill grew up in Cimarron and attended Cimarron schools. He was an autobody repairman in Cimarron until his health no longer allowed him to work. Bill enjoyed gardening and the outdoors.

Bill is survived by a son, Ron Sallee of Dodge City; a daughter, Sheila Long of Neosho, Missouri; companion, Maxine Ringleman of Cimarron; four brothers, Albert, Jerry, Ronnie, and Charlie Burns all of Cimarron; three grandchildren, Roger Sallee, Tim Richhart, and Kayla Richhart; and three great grandchildren, Aubrey and Kaleb Sallee and Brylee Reynolds. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Betty Hamilton.

Memorial service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel in Cimarron on Monday, October 15, 2012 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Randall S. Harrell presiding. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to the Ford County Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
