BILLY C. HORN
Dodge City - Billy C. Horn, 91, died June 1, 2012 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City. He was born on January 31, 1921 in Dodge City, the son of William and Vada (Wadsworth) Horn.
Billy graduated from Dodge City High School. He served in World War II and in Korea in the United States Army. After returning from the service, he married Norma McCoy on September 4, 1954 in Clayton, New Mexico. They lived in Dodge City all of their married life. Billy worked for the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railroad as a car man for 32 years. He also worked in auto glass repair and television repair. Billy enjoyed gardening and fishing in his spare time.
Mr. Horn was a member of Howard Gotschall Post #1714 V.F.W. of Dodge City.
In addition to his wife of 57 years, Billy is survived by one daughter, Lisa Winchester of Cimarron; seven grandchildren, Cassie Musick, Austin, Texas, Aimee Kahle, Seminole, Florida, Brandy Agee, Phoenix, Arizona, Natasha Anderson, Wichita, Amanda Martinez, Dodge City, Jason Skinner, Providence, Rhode Island and Koda Winchester, Cimarron; and nine great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by one daughter, Rona Musick and one sister, Helen Newell.
Funeral service will be held at Grace Community Church, Dodge City on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Kirk Larson presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City with military rites by Howard Gotschall Post #1714 V.F.W. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 from noon to 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Billy C. Horn Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
