Obituary

Dodge City - Billy Gene Stills, 73, died September 25, 2018 at his home in Dodge City.  He was born on March 27, 1945 in Lamar, Colorado the son of John and Emily Jean (King) Stills.

Billy was raised in Lamar.  He joined the United States Army and was stationed in Germany for several years.  On May 5, 1979, he married Mary J. Wordelman in Dodge City.  She preceded him in death on November 10, 2016.  Billy worked as a truck driver, hauling oversized equipment.  He loved to watch wrestling, having coffee and visiting with friends, and being with his family.

He is survived by four daughters, Candie Stills of Wichita, Emily Stills of Topeka, Shawna Andriga of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Shannon Andriga of Puyallup, Washington; two sons, Glendale Stills of Spokane, Washington and Michael Stills of Wichita; one sister, Martha Toland of Dodge City; four grandsons, Johnny Stensland of Topeka, Bobby Stensland of Larned, Billy Stensland of Shawnee, and Justin Ellman of Kalispell, Montana; and many nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Wilbur Combs; and a brother, John Stills.

Graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City on Monday October 1, 2018 at 2:00 PM with Chaplain Daniel Johnson presiding.  Military honors will be provided by Howard Gotschall Post #1714 V.F.W and KSARNG Military Honors.   There is no visitation.  Memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Prairie in care of Swaim Funeral Chapel.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
