Blanche (Vance) Enlow, 93, died Monday, September 14, 2009 at her son's home in Dodge City. She was born on August 5, 1916 at the Vance homestead north of Dodge City, the daughter of Truman C. and Lillie O. (Converth) Vance.

She married Cressie Monroe Enlow on January 1, 1939 at the William Converth residence in Ford County. He preceded her in death on March 19, 2009. She was a beautician prior to her marriage to Cressie. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren, gardening, flowers, and cooking for her family.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Dodge City.

Blanche is survived by one daughter, Barbara Higby and husband Bill of Dodge City; one son, Chris Enlow and wife Janet of Dodge City; nine grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Cressie, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Beverly Reinhardt; a sister, Ethelyn (Babe) Carothers; and a brother, Harold Vance.

Funeral service will be held at First Christian Church, Dodge City, on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 10:30 AM with Mr. Phil Scott and Mr. Larry Williams presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City, on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 from noon to 8:00 PM.
