Dodge City - Bobbie Christine Cave, 86, died July 19, 2014 at Presbyterian Manor of the Plains, Dodge City. She was born on November 2, 1927 in Conway Springs, Kansas the daughter of Robert Harper and Mary Opal (Shobe) Adams. She graduated from high school in Columbus, Ohio and received an associate secretarial degree.
Bobbie married F. Dale Smith on July 17, 1946 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Mr. Smith was a Ford County engineer from 1975 to 1987. He died on April 12, 1992. She later married Steve Cave on November 22, 1997. He died on February 2, 2005.
She was a member of the Saint Cornelius Episcopal Church, P.E.O., Christians Women Organization and was an Altar Guild Directoress of the SW Kansas Episcopal Diocese.
Bobbie is survived by two daughters, Kay Hager (Mark) of Dodge City and Cindy Gleghorn (Dave) of Glendale, Arizona; four grandchildren, Kristi (David) Glidewell and their children Makaela (Josue) Howerton, Brianne and Taylor Glidewell; Karen (Brian) Kidney and their children Jeremy Atkinson, Mason and Jessica Kidney; Casey (Nathan) Yancey and their children Brayden, Preston and Maddox Yancey; and Colton Hager. In addition Bobbie was survived by a great great grandson Michael Howerton.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, husbands F. Dale Smith and Steven E. Cave and a son Randye Smith.
Funeral service will be held at Saint Cornelius Episcopal Church, Dodge City 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 24, 2014 with Rev. Rita Stockton presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City from Noon to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 23, 2014.
