Dodge City - Bobby Dale McKinney, 66, died April 13, 2016 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City. He was born on March 22, 1950 in Dodge City, the son of George and Colleen (Tolson) McKinney.

Bobby was a lifetime resident of Dodge City. He was a graduate of Dodge City High School. In 1968, Bobby joined the United States Navy and served his country until his discharge in 1971. Bobby worked at several places in Dodge including the Flying J restaurant, Dodge City Country Club, Dodge City Community College, and an auto parts store. He enjoyed bowling and playing bingo.

He was a member of the First Missionary Church of Dodge City.

Bobby is survived by his father, George McKinney of Dodge City; one brother, Bruce McKinney also of Dodge City; three aunts, Dorlene Trekell of Dodge City, Ardine Maynard of Fowler, and Betty Clover of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania; and several cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother and aunts, Beulah Hull and Bernadine Abbott.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City with military rites by Howard Gotschall Post #1714 and KSARNG Military Honors. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Sunday, April 17, 2016 from noon to 6:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Halsey Hall Activity Fund in care of the funeral home.
