BONNIE L. BURRELL

Dodge City - Bonnie L. Burrell, 84, died March 6, 2012 at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City. She was born on October 22, 1927 at Dodge City, daughter of James and Bertha (Brown) Reekie.

She married Kenneth Burrell on August 28, 1943 in Kingman. Bonnie was the owner of Bee Gee Kennel. Mrs. Burrell was very active and creative in arts and crafts.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dodge City and the Kansas Genealogical Society.

In addition to her husband, Bonnie is survived by two daughters, Ruth Inez Terrill and husband Ralph of Dodge City and Carolin Sue Gechter and husband Steve also of Dodge City; five grandchildren, Daniel and wife Lisa Terrill, Darin Terrill, Drew Terrill, Sara and husband Mike Legleiter and Mike Gechter and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Edna Reekie, Beatrice Reigel, and Mary Trent and a brother Bob Reekie.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home on Friday, March 9, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. with Rev. Carl Vincent presiding. Burial will follow at Greencrest Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Thursday, March 8, 2012 from Noon to 8:00 P.M.. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
