WRIGHT - Bonnie M. Shean, 80, died April 14, 2009 at her home in Wright. She was born on December 31, 1928 at Clay County, Missouri the daughter of Leamer Otto and Sadie Mildred (Mizner) Hedrick.

She married Edward H. Shean on January 21, 1946 at Liberty, Missouri. After their marriage they lived on the family farm at Wright for the 60 years of their marriage, where Ed died May 13, 2006. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister who loved her flower garden, decorating cakes, cooking, and the great outdoors.

Bonnie was a member of the VFW Auxillary where she was the Past Department President of Kansas, and a VFW Auxiliary volunteer at Ft. Dodge for several years.

She is survived by a son, Keith E. Shean and wife Lucia of Dodge City; two daughters, Cathy A. Shean-Phillips of Wright and Sandy M. Shean of Rockaway Beach, Missouri; a brother, Milbert Hedrick and wife Dianne of Warrensburg, Missouri; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren: Christopher T. Phillips, wife Tracy and their three children Chenoa, Dominic, and Jaeden of Alma; Kevin L. Shean of Dodge City; and Larey K. Shean-Higgins, husband Jason and their three children Cole, Bastain, and Dylan of Dodge City. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and three sisters.

Memorial service will be held at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery at Ft. Dodge on Friday, April 17, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dick Robbins presiding. Memorials can be made to Hospice of the Prairie in care of the funeral home. Personal Condolences may be left at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
