Bryan Thomas Murphy, 16, died Friday, February 12, 2010 at Via Christi St. Francis Campus in Wichita. He was born on August 20, 1993 at Dodge City the son of Eric Allan Murphy and Gretchen Rae Gattenby.

Bryan attended Miller Elementary School in Dodge City before moving to Konawa, Oklahoma in 2002, then moved to Alameda, California and then back to Konawa. He was currently a junior at Konawa High School where he was an honor student. Bryan was a member of the high school football team and had participated in wrestling. He loved listening to music, lifting weights and drawing. Bryan was a wonderful young man who loved his family.

Survivors include his father, Eric Allan Murphy of Wichita; two sisters, Brianna Lee Gattenby of Alameda, Calif. and Kira Kelly of Loveland, Colo.; one brother, Nathan Kelly of Loveland, Colo.; Grandparents, Dan and Arloa Murphy of WaKeeney, Sandra Jo and Jon Cummins of Wichita, and Phyllis Gattenby of Dodge City. He was preceded in death by his mother and one uncle, Bryan Lee Hayes.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Mr. Jeff Hiers presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. In lieu of flowers family would appreciate memorial contributions to the Bryan Murphy Memorial Fund in care of Swaim Funeral Home - 1901 Sixth Avenue - Dodge City, KS 67801.
