Dodge City - Byron Joseph Rincon, 46, passed suddenly on June 1, 2025 at St. Catherine Hospital of Dodge City. He was born on October 20, 1978 at Minneola, the son of Nicholas and Diana (Vanosdall) Rincon.
Byron was a lifelong resident of Dodge City and a 1997 graduate of Dodge City High School. He served in the US Marine Corp from 1998 to 2002. After his discharge he returned to Dodge City and worked at El Charro Restaurant and later became part owner. He enjoyed cooking, working, fishing, and lifting weights. He married Cynthia Tavares on September 30, 2024 at Dodge City.
Byron is survived by his wife, Cynthia Rincon of Dodge City; his parents, Nick and Diana Rincon of Dodge City; two sisters, Erin Rincon and Erica Elling and husband Jeremy both of Dodge City; a step-daughter, Yuliana Cendejas; four nephews, Brandon Rincon, Joseph Rincon, Landon Elling and Layton Elling; two nieces, Shaylee Rincon and Emilee Rincon; three great nieces and 1 great nephew and his four fur babies, Gizmo, Leah, Moose, and Betty. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, David and Maxine Vanosdall and Juan and Christina Rincon.
Graveside service will be held at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery at Ft. Dodge on Monday, June 23, 2025 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Joel Tuchez presiding. Military honors will be provided by United States Marine Corp and SWKS Veteran's Funeral Honor Guard. There will be no public visitation as cremation has taken place.
