Satanta - Calvin L. Hoskinson, 71, died December 19, 2012 at Satanta District Hospital in Satanta. He was born on October 26, 1941 in Woods, the son of Azariah and Avanell (Shuss) Hoskinson.

Calvin was raised in Satanta and graduated from Satanta High School. He was a veteran, serving in the United States Army. On May 18, 1972 he married Jerrene Nelson in Satanta. She survives. Calvin farmed and was a dirt contractor for many years. After his retirement, he built lawn furniture. Calvin enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren.

He was a member of the The First Church of Satanta.

In addition to his wife, Calvin is survived by one son, Michael Hoskinson of Satanta; a sister, Venita Hill of Kiowa; and three grandchildren, Braden, Morgan, and Katie. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Nelson Wade Hoskinson; and a brother, Johnny Hoskinson.

Funeral service will be held at The First Church in Satanta on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Tom Massey presiding. Burial will follow at Dudley Township Cemetery in Satanta. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel of Sublette on Thursday, December 20, 2012 from noon to 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Calvin Hoskinson Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
