Montezuma – Cami Jantz, 62, passed away on June 24, 2017 in Dodge City. She was born on July 14, 1954 in Garden City, the daughter of Robert and Mary (Weidner) Malone.
Cami's childhood was spent in Sublette. She graduated from Sublette High School in 1972 and then went on to further her education at Hutchinson Community College. Cami worked for USD 371 as a school cook and as a school bus driver. She later went to work for the City of Montezuma as an assistant city clerk.
Cami was devoted to her family and raising her children, Heather and Aaron. She attended every activity and sporting event that her children and grandchildren participated in. Every Thanksgiving was spent with Cami's family where time was spent playing cards and making memories. Cami loved her grandchildren above all else. She took time for her grandchildren attending their music programs, cheer performances and ball games. They were her world.
Cami enjoyed sporting events of all kinds. Her weekends were spent watching K-State football and basketball as well as watching the KC Royals. Dan was never allowed to hold the remote when the Wildcats or Royals were playing!
She is survived by her husband, Dan Eberling of Montezuma; daughter Heather Jantz and husband Aaron Albers of Montezuma; son Aaron Jantz and wife Liz of Montezuma; her mother, Mary Malone of Montezuma; two brothers, Dr. Mike Malone and wife Teresa of Great Bend, Mitch Malone and wife Mary Ann of Weatherford, Oklahoma, sister Janet Cook and husband Scott of Alva, Oklahoma; and four grandchildren, Gwyn, Sloane, Miller, and Hudson. She is preceded in death by her father, Bob Malone.
