Obituary

SUBLETTE - Carson Edward Shotton, 27, died February 25, 2012 at his home in Kechi. He was born on November 7, 1984 in Garden City, the son of Brad and Julie (Edwards) Shotton.

Carson was raised in Sublette. He graduated from Crosswalk Christian School in Sublette and attended Garden City Community College. Carson had worked for Hessman Construction in Sublette and was currently a technician at Abengoa Ethonal Plant in Colwich. Carson was a devoted father to his daughters; they were the light of his life. Family was very important to Carson. He was always willing to help anyone who was in need.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Sublette.

Carson is survived by two daughters, Natalie Lynn Shotton and Kyndal Marie Shotton both of Kechi; parents, Brad and Julie Shotton of Sublette; one brother, Dylan Shotton and wife Erica of Sublette; two sisters, Jonna Janzen and husband Joshua of Wahiawa, Hawaii and Carly Mayfield and husband Donny of Olathe; two nephews, Davis Alan Shotton of Sublette and Braylon Davis Mayfield of Olathe; two nieces, Payten Lynn Mayfield and Hadley Elizabeth Mayfield both of Olathe; aunts and uncles, Steve and Janet Weidner of Sublette; Ed and Jill Chavez of Olathe; Vince and Ami Heil of Barron, Wisconsin; Brad and Vicki Carr of Lewisville, North Carolina; and Chad Shotton of Phoenix, Arizona; grandparents, Victor and Shirley Shotton of Wilcox, Arizona and Lewis and Nancy Westcott of Prairie Village. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Norman Edwards and step grandfather, Jim Cook.

Funeral service will be held at Sublette Methodist Church on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Kent Scott presiding. Burial will follow at Haskell County Cemetery in Sublette. Public visitation will be at the Sublette United Methodist Church on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 from noon to 8:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to Sublette United Methodist Church in care of Swaim Funeral Home – 1901 Sixth Ave – Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
