Cathy was born in Ford County on November 16, 1949 to Bonnie M. and Edward H Shean. She died on May 27, 2025 at her son's home in Alma.

She retired from the United States Postal Service after 30+ years. Cathy also loved working for the Dodge City Police Department and EMS Critical Care unit, where she retired after 10 years.

Cathy was a loving and adventurous mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved all things outdoors, archery, fishing, motor cross, and Scouting, and most of all, living on the family farm near Wright. Cathy was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.

Cathy is survived by her son, Chris Phillips and wife, Tracy and their three children, Chenoa Phillips of Kansas City, Dominic Fisher of Wichita, and Jaeden Phillips of Alma; her sister, Sandy Shean of Saguache, Colorado; sister-in-law, Lucia Shean of Wilroads Gardens; nephew, Kevin Shean; and niece, Larey Higgins of Salina; many great nephews; and a great-great niece. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bonnie and Edward and her brother, Keith Shean.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Dodge City on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 11:00 AM.  There is no visitation as cremation has taken place.  Memorials are suggested to Ford County EMS or the Alma EMS in care of the funeral home.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
