Obituary

Dodge City - Champ C. Cox, 87, died August 20, 2014 at Trinity Manor Nursing Home, Dodge City. He was born on April 11, 1927 at Cimarron , KS the son of John T. Cox and Lulu (Pittman).

He married Joan Keller on July 2, 1976 in Dodge City, she survives. He ran Champ's Auctioneering Service for almost 30 years, and was also the owner of Champs Red Carpet Service Station for 15 years. Mr. Cox was also a mechanic for Magouirk Motor company of Cimarron.

He was a member of the First United Methodist church of Dodge City, Kansas Auctioneers Association and the National Auctioneers Association.

He is survived by his wife Joan; one brother J.T. Cox and wife Joan; one sister Lucille McGrew all of Dodge City and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Lance Carrithers presiding. Burial will follow at Cimarron Cemetery in Cimarron. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Friday, August 22, 2014 from 12:00 to 8:00 PM . Memorials are suggested to Donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
