DODGE CITY - Chris Anthony Grabin, 68, died June 7, 2016 at his home in Dodge City. He was born on October 19, 1947 at Des Moines, Iowa the son of Charles Christopher and Myrna (Natalle) Grabin.
Chris studied Theology in California. He served in the US Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. On May 3, 1974 he married Angie Valencia in El Paso, Texas. Chris worked for the Dodge City Housing Agency. He loved music and was a great guitar player. He also enjoyed the great outdoors, animals, and loved spending time with his grand children.
He was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe and Howard Gotschall Post #1714, V.F.W. both of Dodge City.
Chris is survived by his wife Angie Grabin of the home; two daughters, Christina Whitley of Garden City and Brenda Grabin of Dodge City; son, Saul Grabin of Dodge City; five grandchildren, Arianna and Athena Whitley, Orlando, Daemian, and Alexander Grabin; and one great granddaughter, Avery Whitley-Macias. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Vigil Service will be held at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 7:00 PM. Memorial Mass will be held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Aneesh Parappanuttu presiding. Burial will follow at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery in Ft. Dodge . Memorials are suggested to Chris Grabin Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
